Retro makeup looks

You’ve always loved vintage-inspired makeup looks. Remember when you used to watch your mom put on her makeup, and she would tell you that the key was less is more? She would show you how to perfect a natural look with just a light dusting of powder, mascara, eyeliner, and lipstick. Nowadays, though, it seems like everyone’s trying too hard to be “Instagram famous” by piling on all sorts of different colors and textures onto their face, you want something simple enough for everyday wear but still has an effortless elegance about it. Something that will make people stop in their tracks as they recognize the beauty radiating from your face because it’s so classic yet modern at the same time.

My mom would always tell me, “beauty is only skin deep when I was a teenager.” As you get older, your priorities change, and sometimes it’s nice to turn back the clock. We will show you how vintage makeup can be used for every day looks different from what we see on Instagram.

Vintage makeup trends for you

Do you remember a time when your mother’s makeup bag was filled with a variety of different colors and textures? Maybe she even had an old compact that she let you play with. I know that feeling all too well because my mom always has her makeup bag stocked full of essentials so I can borrow from it as much as I want.

The other day I was looking through my makeup bag and realized that many of the products were from when I was in high school. I found it interesting to think about how much my style has changed over time, but how some beauty trends have stayed consistent.  As a result, I thought it would be fun to share with you some vintage-inspired beauty looks for this season.
